Floral prints are everywhere this spring, so it’s possible that this trend may creep into your wardrobe.

If you’re like me and usually steer clear of anything overly girly like floral prints because they’re usually just too saccharin for your taste, then this unexpected pairing will be a great solution for you: the striped tee with the floral bottom.

There’s something classically cool about striped tees, hence that’s why all of the images of icons like Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Mia Farrow, Audrey Hepburn and even James Dean all look timeless. It just doesn’t go out of style because they act as a neutral basic. So see, yes you can mix a striped tee with another print.

The only thing that will be too sweet about your outfit is all of the compliments you’ll be getting (aw).

STYLIST TIP: When mixing patterns either stick in the same color family or vary the size of the patterns, so if you go for small prints on top, opt for larger ones on bottom and vice versa.
