Aloha from Hawaii! When in Rome, do as the Romans do…when in Hawaii, dress like it. In order to save up for some surf lessons and Mai Tais, a stylista must get crafty. One of my favorite summer 2011 purchases was this vintage “2fer” from my weakness, The Spooky Boutique, found at the Artists & Fleas Market in trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For only $100, I scored these pieces that can be mixed and matched to create a plethora of outfits. When not trying to replicate 70’s DVF style (as seen here), I love to wear the skirt alone over a slip like this one from Max Azria’s fall 2011 collection.

After staying strong for two seasons, I don’t think the sheer maxi is going anywhere. Time to invest in your own *sensible* version?
