Behind The Scenes of Accessories Magazine Shoot

Believe it or not, this was the EDITED wardrobe and accessories from the recent Accessories Magazine shoot I styled.

Between what the editor, Nicole, and I pulled, there was an entire room of wardrobe and accessories—more than we could even keep track of.

Luckily, it was someone’s job to keep track of it all. How luxurious for this stylist!

Needless to say, not everything we loved could make it in the May issue and June cover shoot. For instance, amazing feather pieces designed by Tess Johnson (see above with editor Nicole Phillip-Kronenberg).

It was also unfortunate that not all of the amazing shoes could be shown…and there were a lot of them, like these holorgraphic shoes from Nanette Lepore, these graphic ones from United Nude, among others you saw here  previously from Rebecca Minkoff’s fall 2013 collection.

I was given permission to share with you some of the fun things we shot, but I don’t want to give away too much before the issues come out in May and June, but I couldn’t resist sharing these AMAZING Herve Leger harnesses layered over each other.

One of my favorite things to do as a stylist is to take something and style it as something else that it wasn’t designed to be. I’ve been obsessed with these holographic cuffs from Naked Label and they just sent me some more in time for the shoot. When I first discovered them, I tried them as an earring, but I couldn’t pull it off. I’m glad it worked for our futuristic-space-age shoot.

STYLIST TIP: Always look at all of the possibilities of your wardrobe. A necklace can be wrapped as a bracelet. A dress can instantly be turned into a skirt with a top layered over it. Even a necklace can be pinned into the hair for a hair accessory. Have fun experimenting and don’t take fashion too seriously!
