Effortless Chic

Elizabeth & James blazer (Loehmann’s) / Gap sweater / BDG jeans (similar) / Vince Camuto shoes (TJMaxx) / Cambridge Satchel Company bag / Urban Outfitters Scarf  and sunnies / H&M enamel cuff / etc… watchband cuff / belt and all other jewelry, vintage.

It’s hard to worry about my own style when I’m so focused on the styling projects I’m working on. Sometimes I would love to walk out in sweatpants, but I never have—not even in college, unless I was getting hazed in my sorority—and never will. A worn in, loose fitting pair of jeans is the next best thing.

STYLIST TIP: If you’re going to go for a relaxed look like a boyfriend jean, polish it up with more tailored pieces like a blazer and a sexy bootie. Then you’ll be ready for your errands or even drinks with friends.

BEAUTY SECRET: (Look! It’s a 2-fer!) So, if you want a cool quick bun updo like mine, but you have thin hair that doesn’t give you a beautiful bump like this, you’re in luck! You can achieve this look with a hair donut like ones I’ve spotted hair stylists everywhere now carrying in their kits.

OR my cheap and easy cop-out solution:

1- Take an old sock (preferably clean) and cut off the foot part.

2- Pull hair into high ponytail secured with a clear elastic.

3- Then taking the rest of the sock, put it around the ends of your hair and roll the hair until it covers the sock and reaches the base of your hair.

4- Secure with u-shaped pins and voila! Effortless good hair day.
