Fall Vibes

thebrooklynstylist-fall-vibes-7

This week in NYC our forecast is showing record temperatures (80 degrees in October??), but it’s inevitable that fall is here and it’s only going to get colder. Whether you’re in denial like me or ready for the cold temps, it’s about time to break out that in between weather fall jacket and feel the fall vibes.

I was surprised to find that this season a lot of people told me they don’t really own a good fall coat or in between jacket. If you’re in the market for one and want something that’s both on trend AND classic enough to be a perennial staple, then may I suggest the military jacket.

Military everything is a major trend this season, so you’ll be seeing it everywhere. I’m sure a lot of you ran out this season and bought this trend’s sister jacket, the bomber jacket. While I love a good bomber jacket, it’s not quite warm enough to take you from day to night for much longer this season. That’s why I’m making the case for a wool (or lighter if you’re in a warmer climate) military style one.

I’m obsessed with this one by Tibi from Rent The Runway Unlimited, but sadly I will have to return it one of these days soon. Maybe I will splurge and invest in it or maybe I will just continue to wear all of my army green toppers (I think there may be 6 in my closet!). Until then it’s the perfect coat for fall activities like when I went pumpkin and apple picking recently at Harvest Moon Orchard in upstate New York.

Check out my military coat and jacket picks below and guarantee you’ll be turning heads this season… and for seasons to come.
