Instastyle In NYC

I promise I will return to more posts about fashion and my life as a stylist, but lately, my life has been consumed with what’s been going on around me in NYC post-Sandy:

1 – Dents all over my car thanks to a tree falling on it during the superstorm Sandy — though after spending the past few days traveling through Brooklyn and visiting donation centers, I feel so lucky that the worst of the damage was only to my car.

2 – Trees down all over my neighborhood and some are blocking streets and sidewalks throughout Brooklyn.

3 – I organized a small sandwich-making party in my apartment this weekend to get friends to help us deliver food and other supplies to be sent from a hub in Sunset Park* to be sent out to The Rockaways and Breezy Point, which are areas that got hit pretty hard in the city.

4 – A beautiful view from Sunset Park, the highest point in Brooklyn, of the entire city. After seeing how resilient New Yorkers are and so many people chipping in for the recovery, I am prouder than ever to be a New Yorker.

*If you can make it out to Sunset Park this week, please drop off donations to St. Jacobi Church

Even more incentive to trek over to donate out in Sunset Park, grab a cheap taco and a Guanabana shake at Matamoros!!!!!!!!! Mmm…
