Star Gazing at Rebecca Minkoff

One of the perks of being a stylist is being able to check out all of the trends and fashion a season before the rest of the world does. One of the drawbacks is that I’m already making a shopping list of everything I want now.

Lucky for you, I get to share everything with you before it hits stores in the fall.

I went to the Rebecca Minkoff press preview this week to check out some pieces from her fall collection that was inspired by space. While I was taking note of what pieces I wanted for an upcoming editorial, I also couldn’t help but create my shopping list of what I want this fall—like this amazing structured metallic bag below.

Speaking of space, as Neil Armstrong famously said, “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” Minkoff’s collection took a giant leap for ready-to-wear to wearable high fashion for the masses with edgier pieces like these booties.

Can we talk about the hologram trend that I can’t seem to get enough of? It seemed RM agreed and I can’t wait to see these accessories everywhere this fall.

I don’t want to share too much of the collection—I’m reserving some of my favorites for editorials I’m working on—but it was great to see RM’s attention to detail that makes these designs look more high fashion than commercial. These are some of the most wearable, yet show-stopping pieces that are classic with a twist. As you know already, I’m a sucker for a good blazer, so this one had my name all over it.

Of course we can’t talk futuristic without the latest technology. How great would it be to bring your own party in your clutch with these speakers coming out of it? Rebecca Minkoff has officially conquered the bag world and is taking the RTW world by storm.
