In addition to the 70’s trend that we’ve been seeing all over the runways to the real life way for this season, graphic black and white is also trending this spring. I came up with the concept after noticing that many of the collections had much of this as a focus and it was a perfect blend of futuristic shapes and a subtle throwback to the 70’s, with wide legged pants and stacked heels. We shot this back in November at Nashville based photographer, Mark Delong’s studio, where he mimicked the shapes in the clothing both in real life and in post. We all joked that the beautiful long haired Terese resembled quirky singer Sia in her choppy wig, but luckily we saw more of her face than the elusive singer.

STYLIST TIP: This spring, go bold and take some of these graphic black and white elements into your look for an update to a classic style. Look for new shapes and silhouettes that are a refreshing twist to this perennial style. Don’t be afraid to mix prints—especially when it’s in black and white tones, it’s hard to mess this one up!
