It was “All American” scene at the Highline Stages for the Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet spring 2014 presentation. The collection was prep-meets-pretty with looks that included a polo paired with a printed maxi skirt, as well as full skirts and crop tops in saccharin colors. Much of Bendet’s romanticism included an edgy twist, complete with sky high platform espadrilles, ear cuffs and lots of black and leather (even in crop tops!). There was something for everyone,

It was an exciting show for Californian-born Turk, who in addition to showing her signature printed beachwear and women’s collection at The Studio in Lincoln Center, presented both the quirky “Mr. Turk” men’s line, which will be debuting in specialty stores in the spring, and the launch of her shoe

Last season, Lela Rose had one of the stand out shows with a beautiful yet dark fairy tale story told. This season, she continued to toy with some of those dark elements, but took her collection in a totally new direction, inspired by Danish industrial design and the lines of mid-century modern furniture. Please excuse the poor quality iPhone snap, but it was so hot—both literally and figuratively—at Christian Siriano’s spring 2014 show on Saturday that I moved to the very top of the stands so my wide legged Siriano pants weren’t sticking to my legs in the tropic-like heat at the tropic-like temperatures at Eyebeam in Chelsea. The audience fanned themselves with anything they could get a hold of, as they oo-ed and aah-ed over each look that came out
