Some Bright Ideas

Thank you all who came by last night to The Fashion Center BID’s Emerging Designers Trunk show! It was a huge success in conjunction with Bottomless Closet and there were tons of generous donations to the amazing organization. There also were a couple of lucky people who donated their old clothing and ended up winning in the raffle of prizes from the designers. It just so happened that one of my former sorority sisters won a neon green watchband bracelet (I swear it wasn’t rigged!).

One of my customers said that she was scared to relive the neon trend that was so popular when we were kids. I assured her that it’s done so much more tastefully this season and to only do it in baby steps through accessories.

I even picked up some new neon pieces from Nona E. Rose and E. Kammeyer to take the baby steps into spring (it helps that it’s basically spring this week in NYC!). I love when you can get the most out of the pieces you own, so I decided I can wear my new E. Kammeyer headband as a necklace. I tend to do that—just like the headpiece that I wore and sold last night that you can also wear as a necklace.

STYLIST TIP: Don’t be afraid to try out pieces in your closet news ways: a dress tucked into a skirt, a purse as a clutch, a scarf as a turban, a necklace as a bracelet. Have fun with it and get the most out of your wardrobe!!

Below are some of my highlights from the event last night:

ETC… classic and new neon watchband bracelets (the big hits of the night!)

ETC… braided watchband bracelets

ETC… chandelier and coin rings

ETC… watchband bracelets (get them at BY BROOKLYN) and my new neon Nona E. Rose belt (similar sold at Thistle & Clover).

Naturally Susan’s all natural salves

Nona E. Rose belt (similar sold at Thistle & Clover)

E. Kammeyer rhinestone and rope headband

On Liz: Free People top; J.Crew tank; Madewell jeans; ETC… *new* headpiece and bracelets;  Nona E. Rose belt (similar sold at Thistle & Clover); E. Kammeyer rhinestone and rope headband (worn as a necklace!).

On Susan: Lots of amazing Naturally Susan’s products…hence the gorgeous skin!

On Ryan from The Fashion Center®: May or may not be wearing heels. Just kidding.

On Emily: E. Kammeyer rhinestone and rope headband; Zara pants (similar).

On Rachel: Nona E. Rose belt

Oh and don’t worry if you missed it last night…ETC will be doing another trunk show on Saturday March 31st at By Brooklyn.

xo Liz

  1. I wanted so badly to come last night but I just couldn’t make it. I’m so glad you had fun! I’m really obsessing over those rings wire-wrapped rings! I’ll have to make a trip to Brooklyn to snag me a few of them!
