Hope you had a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. It’s always one of my favorite times of year not only because it’s when we finally get to break out the summer gear hiding in our closets, well, because it’s my birthday.
I got lucky this year because it actually landed on the holiday and it was the first warm day we’ve had in NYC in a long time. It was great to finally let my toes feel the air and wear some lighter colors than my usual cold weather uniform of black.

STYLIST TIP: Just because your mother or grandmother told you the old fashion rules like “don’t wear white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day” doesn’t mean you have to listen to them anymore. Sure, dress for the season—don’t wear heavy fabrics like velvet, tweed, or wool during the warmer months—but rules in fashion can be broken nowadays.
