Trina Turk’s SS15 presentation was a fun and vibrant event at Lincoln Center with show-goers, interactive models and of course, the designer herself, Trina, all excited and less serious than the typical NYFW experience. Selfies were even encouraged (yes even with the models!). The collection also featured looks from her husband’s menswear line, Mr.Turk.
Inspired by the LA’s downtown flower mart, the focus of the collection’s Pop Art Flower Mart theme was the combination of tropical, graphic and garden prints, as well as an array of colors, geometric shapes and stripes.
Highlights from the presentation included the Trellis Scarf print silk crepe de chine caftan and Indigo Pop tweed fringe jacket, Bora Bora stripe print bandeau and the Pinpoint petal jacquard short, giving an abundance of tropical and geometric prints.
Mod Banana, Aqua, Indigo, and Red Hot were common tones among the collection. Standout accessories include, straw hats and totes, geometric headbands and beach towels, colorful iPhone cases and bangles. As always, the Turks make us look forward to the lighthearted warmer months of fashion.
