Fashion Week Recap

Top c/o JSDNYC by Jennifer Stewart; Stella McCartney jeans; Marc Jacobs shoes; Patricia Nash bag, Dolce & Gabanna glasses

So on the morning after Fashion’s Night Out, I dragged myself out of bed to make it down to one of my favorite designers show at fashion week. Thank goodness the talented Jennifer Stewart loaned me something to wear from her own fall collection, or else I may have shown up naked.

Hopefully that fancy-pants tunic sweater, the etc… necklace made of vintage pieces and chandelier crystals and my D&G glasses distracted from the bags under my eyes from the festivities of the evening prior. (For future reference, my friend and talented make-up artist, Brett Jackson, informed me that Laura Mercier concealer in wheat would have done the trick!).

etc... cluster and ribbon necklace and watchband bracelets; Shaya NYC square bangles; vintage tortoise shell bracelet; Kiel Mead forget me knot ring; my own vintage engagement ring and band

As promised, here are images from the gorgeous Electric Feathers Spring/Summer 2012 presentation in Lincoln Center…

Drooling over this piece and it’s pairing of comfy Toms. The perfect mix of NYC glitz with that Brooklyn laid back vibe.

Electric Feathers SS2012 collection

Love that this has a bit of that 80’s feel with the lame, yet still exotic with its Arabian charm.

Long live the romper—especially if it’s in a great fabric like this silky one.

Too bad this jacket available until this spring. I’m ready for it now!

Electric Feathers SS2012 collection

This gorgeous cotton gauze parachute dress has my name all over it.

Electric Feathers SS2012 collection

This angelic white gauzy dress turned into an asymmetrical modern gown while I blinked, with the model hiding a sleeve behind her and rolling up another in a way that kept us guessing if a new dress appeared.

One of the things that makes Electric Feathers so unique in their designs is that all of their pieces can be worn in a number of ways. For a fashion show to present without a runway, they definitely kept it fresh by having the models surprise us with subtle changes in their looks. This collection is definitely the answer to stylista’s recession budget.

Maybe I’ll invest in one of these gems and continually switch up my outfit this coming spring—in the blink of an eye.
