Going Brogue

Real stylists wear flats. We’re on our feet all day on photoshoots or running around prepping for them, with rarely a chance to sit. Unless I’m in a meeting with a client or at an event, it’s rare you will find me in a heel while I’m working.

During fashion week last week, the last thing I wanted to do is trek around the city in heels all day and night. Now with the new cab fare rates in NYC, I certainly wasn’t going to break the bank with taxi rides all over town—if you could find any with all of the fashionistas cab hopping.

Some stylish gals will hide a pair of flats in their purse and quickly switch into heels a block before their grand entrance. When you’re carrying a ton of papers, an iPad, and other things that weigh down your bag—or carrying an envelope clutch—this isn’t always an option.

My solution was to “splurge” on these shoes. While other ladies were parading in their Louboutins that can cost around $1000, these brogues were a great fashion week find. They not only saved my soles, but they were also conversation starters at the events I attended.
