Taken from my Pinterest “swim shoot” inspiration board
If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m kind of addicted to the eye candy time suck called Pinterest. I can spend hours looking through perfectly curated images of the wardrobe I can only dream of, the home I would love to decorate if I won the lottery, and the DIY creations I’d tackle if I somehow had extra days added to my life.
Though, its main purpose for me is to collect images for inspiration for upcoming photoshoots I’m planning. The former art director in me likes to see a story board of what I would like to accomplish. The stylist in me wants to see the looks that I will base my concept on.
I’m currently planning on styling a look book for a swimwear line that is vintage inspired, but made from a New York City designer who has spent much time on the beaches of Brazil. We’ve come up with the idea of “oops, I didn’t mean to be sexy.” I think the recent Dior Cruise 2012 lookbook captured by fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth accomplishes that and I hope to capture that in our own way.
