Whenever I’m working on photoshoots in Boston, I’m fortunate to stay at my sister’s house outside of the city. I like to call it my bed-and-breakfast while I’m in town for work, because it really is a nice getaway from my fast-paced city life in NYC.
When I leave the country and work in the city of Boston, it’s still a nice break from my chaotic metropolitan NY life. I love that Boston style can be a bit more laid back than what I’m used to. I’m trying to blend in a bit more when I’m here, because I get stopped to find out where I’m from just about every time I’m roaming Newbury Street or Copley Center in search of pieces for a shoot here. One guy asked if I was European. I replied, New Yorker, but I guess it’s not far off.
STYLIST TIP: A T-shirt dress like this one from Target or this fun (and affordable) one from ASOS is a nice solution when you want to be casual, but still look polished this coming season.
No excuses. Put away those sweatpants unless you’re going to the gym.
I mean you Boston. I mean that with love.
