What a Savage Beauty

”]

I don’t care if you love or hate the late Lee Alexander McQueen’s dark take on fashion, you have to admit that there’s a beautiful artistry to his work that is unlike anything you may have seen in recent years. Fashion as art? You bet.

If you haven’t made it to the Savage Beauty exhibition at the Met, you MUST wait in line for it today before it closes (rumor has it, the lines extend to the park…but you have until midnight!).

If you really can’t make it, at least do yourself the favor and pick up the book of his work that the Met’s talented curator, Andrew Bolton, put together, including a powerful interview with McQueen’s former creative director and now head designer, Sarah Burton. OR…you can petition for it to come to your hometown!

Below are some of my highlights of the show (including my fav piece from the fall 2010 collection that I’m drooling over with the gold feathers)…
