I’m usually not one for up-do’s, but rising temperatures and a back detail like this definitely call for one.
It’s funny that I have friends asking me about hair styling advice recently, when I rarely do more than run a flat iron over my own hair—I’m a wardrobe stylist, not a hair stylist. Though, I’ve picked up a few tricks here and there from hair stylists on shoots that I’ve worked on.
Braids are the easiest way to look instantly more pulled together when you’re having one of those bad hair days and this ‘do, though looks more complex than it is, couldn’t be simpler. It even lasted for what would have been 2 bad hair days thanks to the humid weather we’ve been having in NYC!
- Braid hair into two sections (a loose french braid works best) and secure with clear elastics.
- Next, pull one braid across the crown of the head and secure with bobby pins.
- Do the same with the other braid and tuck the ends under the first braid.
- Secure with u-shaped pins for more hold.
So pretty! Love the braids!!!
