Under The Sea

Chaiken dress (sample never produced, similar online) / Urban Outfitters bralette / Nona E. Rose belt / Hayden Harnett for Target clutch / Bass shoes / Gypsies & Debutantes bracelet / etc… bracelet / bracelet c/o Jewelry by Beth Lauren

I went to a party after work hours the other night, which was themed “under the sea”—and of course stressed over how I would take my look from day to night and still SUBTLY pay homage to the theme. My solution? The accessories!

  1. My belt, being the most obvious sea themed accessory with its seashell buckle, has been a staple in my summer wardrobe since the debut collection of Nona E. Rose. Without getting it altered, I put in a couple of knots (oh so nautical) to go from a jean belt to a waist belt in a snap!
  2. The Beth Lauren bracelet from her upcoming fall collection has sea colored stones and crystals that give any outfit a nice pop of blue.
  3. Okay, so it’s not really in line with the theme, but my cork heeled shoes made by Bass are a fun (and comfortable!) way to wear a little heel from running around all day to go into evenings.

After all of that, no one seemed to stick to the theme…other than the cute cupcakes decorated with sugar seashells.

At least I didn’t show up to the party dressed in a mermaid outfit like the way Elle Woods was the only one dressed up in costume for a party in Legally Blonde. I’m blonde, but not that blonde…
