I have a hard time parting with clothing that I have loved for years (my Carrie Bradshaw style closet is evidence)–especially when it’s a great coat like this one. Sometimes I won’t even notice how much I’ve worn them out because I’m not ready to give them up, hence my arsenal of sweater shavers, shoe polish, Shoe Goo glue, and sewing kit.
I found this coat by the funky urban NYC brand, Triple Five Soul, few years ago at half price. Since then, the store has closed and I have yet to find something as versatile/warm/flattering as this one. There’s so much to love that nothing will compare for the money (yet):
-The quilting is on the inside, preventing that awful Michelin Man look that most cold weather jackets give you.
-I’m a sucker for great jacket linings like this shiny red one.
-The trench-like belt at the waist makes it sexy–yes, I said a coat was sexy.
-There are shoulder straps attached to the inside so I can carry my coat hands-free like a back pack while shopping for a job. True, I get some strange looks in the store, but it’s probably the best feature I’ve ever seen in a coat!
-It has amazing details like a secret pocket and detachable fur-lined hood.
-It’s not boring.
The hunt continues…
(luckily it’s supposed to be warm this week!)
