I’ve been waiting for warmer weather to wear to this fun two piece linen set from Tobi for over a month now, but it’s been chilly in NYC and then I worked on a shoot in Boston, which was even colder. It was definitely worth the wait until I returned home to Brooklyn for Memorial Day weekend because I think it’s an outfit that will be on repeat throughout the summer months. It’s a great look to beat the heat and still look chic, not to mention a steal for the quality.
Memorial Day weekend also marks a new year for me because my birthday usually falls around the holiday. I’m now getting to an age where I’m kind of over celebrating, well, getting older, but it doesn’t mean I have to dress like it. I’m definitely not wearing the same things I wore a decade ago, but why not still have a little fun with your wardrobe? Tobi is great for that because the prices are so affordable, so you can play with trendy pieces without feeling guilty.
Much of Tobi’s site is filled with Coachella-style fashion and trendy bohemian looks, which I’ve been known to rock now and then, but even as trendy as this midriff baring set may be, there’s something timeless (and very 40’s AND 70’s) about the color, fabric and high-waisted, midi silhouette. The CPW (Cost-Per-Wear) value makes it practically free too.
