BCBG blazer, Jessica Simpson pants (both TJMaxx); TopShop top (similar); vintage Bill Blass scarf, belt and gold bangle; Urban Outfitters sunnies; H&M white enamel bangle; Stephan & Co bangle (Loehmann’s); etc… watchband bracelets; Cambridge Satchel bag (color sold out, but similar online); Aldo shoes.
I’ve been channeling a bit of 60’s Jane Birkin lately in my style—not to mention her great hairstyle, complete with chic bangs. I love how she could take a classic casual look of a tee with jeans and make it her own.
It doesn’t get more classic casual than the Breton stripe tops, once reserved for fishermen, then debuted on a woman by Coco Chanel. Unlike Birkin, who probably would have paired it with some jeans, flats and a straw picnic style bag, I updated the classic look with some of the subtle pops of neon popping up—no pun intended—this spring.
I’m sure next year it will return in my closet in some other transformation, which makes this classic style worth investing in.
