You don’t have to be a fashion stylist to adore this hanger necklace by Gorjana & Griffin that I managed to score thanks to a RewardStyle event at NYFW. You’re reading this blog, so it’s a good sign that you’re a lover of fashion. If I’m right, you may want one of these necklaces from the Gorjana x Damsel collection released this week before they sell out. If you sign up on their site, then you will receive 15% off your first order!
I also just discovered Need Supply Co. through the RewardStyle event and thought it was just a cool shop in Richmond, Virginia that I probably wouldn’t ever be able to visit—but then they handed me their beautiful zine and I wanted to know more.
It’s not only printed on such good quality paper that’s up there with indie prints like Brooklyn Magazine and Gather Journal, but the content is unlike anything I’ve seen before from edgier hipster-like editorials (this one with a 90’s feel) and even editorials with artsy illustrations of clothing on bizarre creatures.
It’s the kind of brand that creates a lifestyle beyond just their boutique and proves that print is not dead…and that you can shop for indie finds online!
Lastly, I discovered Silver Continent while I was mingling with the folks behind Open Sky, as well as their talented up-and-coming designers. I met this fine jewelry designer (and former editor/stylist!!), Georgia Davis, who of course we bonded over the fashion business and she kindly gave me one of her gemstone designs, this gorgeous bracelet made from malachite.
I later discovered has some cool meanings, which according to this source, says that “Malachite has been used to aid success in business and protect against undesirable business associations. It is a stone of balance in relationships.” You may catch me wearing this every day now!
