I’ve had many people watch me on set while I roll the sleeves on a model (male or female) and have that “Eureka” moment of, Ah! So THAT’S how you do it. Yes, there is actually a proper way to roll your sleeves.

You certainly can just roll them up the way you’ve always been doing it, but if you want it to look polished, yet effortless, here’s the secret in 3 (or so) easy steps:

Step 1: Make sure your sleeves are unbuttoned and grab from the bottom of the sleeve.

Step 2: Bring the bottom of the sleeve to around your elbow.

Step 3: Fold up your sleeve once more. You can let some of the cuff hang out of the roll—especially if there’s an interesting detail on the under side.

Step 3a: OR you can tuck in the cuff for a perfectly neat roll.

Step 3b: OR you can play with it and scrunch the roll down for a messier, unfussy look.
