What brand of jeans you were wearing used to be the status of how cool you were when I was a kid. I recall girls having a whole wardrobe of Mavi jeans and being quite envious.

I wore the one pair I could afford for years and then finally retired them in college when they began to rip (oh the regrets now!).

Fast forward to adult Liz: a Mavi jeans store opened in my Brooklyn ‘hood and I just had to try out the leading denim brand in the country’s new styles. Just like the jeans I wore for years, this particular pair is exactly the worn in denim that I’ve been searching for. It’s perfect for the weekends and even my active days on set working as a stylist.

Speaking of my Brooklyn, Mavi is hosting an art competition for local artists that you can enter starting today. The brand asks “WHAT’S YOUR BROOKLYN” and your creative entry could be turned into a mural on the US flagship store in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
