Casually Dressed Up

Liz-26

I’m not going to lie, I had one of those lazy getting dressed kind of weekends this past Saturday and Sunday. I went to a fabulous wedding on Friday evening, so after getting dolled up (hence, the messy leftover up-do), all I wanted to do was dressed comfortably. It probably didn’t help that I spent all of Sunday at a yoga festival in Chelsea Piers.

I love how these chambray shorts are so soft and cozy, yet are more polished than a pair of gym shorts! Of course, if you add a cute pair of shoes, some jewels and a structured bag, it automatically takes it up a notch. A friend I haven’t seen in years said “you’re so dressed up!” upon seeing me. Little did she know that it was an illusion!

STYLIST TIP: I personally like a little heel with my shorts to make my legs look longer and leaner, but I usually opt for a chunkier heel or even a wedge. This way you avoid having a “Pretty Woman” moment, if you know what I mean, and you’ll just look pretty classy!
