East Coast Vs. West Coast Style-Off

On Liz: Chaser LA men’s tee (Macy’s); Sparkle and Fade skirt (similar at Urban Outfitters); Matiko Shoes (DNA Footwear); Betsey Johnson socks (Macy’s); scarf, Nine West sunnies, Claudia bag (TJMaxx); Shaya NYC bangles (online); Marina Pecoraro skull bracelet (similar online); etc… watch necklace and braided watchband bracelet (ByBrooklyn); Pepperbox studded gold and diamond earrings (similar online); all other jewelry, vintage.

On Sharon: JCrew shirt; Genetic Jeans (TJMaxx); vintage blazer, scarves, belt, sunnies, bracelets; Catherine Popesco necklace; Sperry shoes; Kenneth Cole watch.

I swear this was unplanned: My stylish friend who is also in the fashion industry, Sharon Gilligan, happened to dress in the West Coast version of my outfit today. Though she is also a fellow Northeaster at heart, she’s been living as a California girl for years and it shows. She always seems to mix her preppy looks with some effortlessly chic L.A. style—complete with a fair dose of vintage. (Love her!).

As you may recall from this post, Sharon also shares my love for wearing our parents’ old wardrobe favorites like our dads’ old braided belts, not to mention skull jewelry and fun bracelets. Otherwise, you can tell from my edgier pieces that I hail from the opposite side of the country.

Are you an East Coast or West Coast style gal at heart?
