Not Quite Extinct

Dodo_case_broken

As you can see, this was a pretty disappointing sight, as my beloved Dodo Case for J.Crew slowly fell apart over the past few months of using it. I’m usually pretty careful with my belongings, but when it comes to anything while I’m working, I’m too busy to worry about it. My iPad has become my office on the go, and not to mention, my portfolio of work, so I needed something durable, practical and of course stylish.

The Dodo case design is brilliant because it looks like a beautifully bound book and it’s great for when I’m reading on the subway, though it wasn’t quite perfect—yet.

I already returned my first Dodo Case back to J.Crew because the corners kept popping off, but this time I went right to the source. Dodo Case actually drastically improved their design recently with a tougher bamboo and other upgrades, so they let me send my favorite chambray case back to be refurbished.

It finally came in the mail and it looks like new! Well, almost…you can see how the chambray wore a bit like a good pair of jeans. Though, the inside is brand spankin’ new!

There are a few new features like the wood button to turn the iPad on and off.

Another fun feature is this non-slip clip that keeps the case open and ready for viewing videos or using your iPad like a personal computer.

STYLIST TIP: Before you go to throw away a broken or damaged item in your closet, assess your options like going to a tailor, shoe repair or leather restorer—and it never hurts to contact the company that manufactures it.
