Son Jung Wan has been a favorite among the fashion critics for the past couple of seasons, so it was no wonder that everyone cheered at the finale of the show on Saturday at the Studio in Lincoln Center.

Like many of the designers this season, the Korean born designer turned to inspiration from abroad, but unique to the season, with the warm desert climate. The show began with a parade of all white looks that with intricately detailed, draped, and cut-out and quite beautiful. Though they seemed ho-hum compared to the yellow and sunset colored looks on both women and men. The men’s breezy tops were refreshing sprinkled among the printed pieces that flowed among the women’s looks. You could hear the audience gasp when a copper colored sequin dress sparkled down the runway like a sunset over the ocean. The sequined looks continued and created a beautiful finale that solidified the collection.

The main criticism among the bloggers in the audience was that Son Jung Wan only had a handful of followers on social media. This collection should catapult her to the millennial masses on the blogosphere (sorry, I know that word is horrid), but hopefully the cards handed out prior to the show with the social media prompts will do the trick.
