#NYFW Recap: @TrinaTurk and @MrTurk

If you lived in some time warp of the 1970’s on the Pacific Coast and modern times, you would be wearing this Trina Turk collection for spring 2014. It was an exciting show for Californian-born Turk, who in addition to showing her signature printed beachwear and women’s collection at The Studio in Lincoln Center, presented both the quirky “Mr. Turk” men’s line, which will be debuting in specialty stores in the spring, and the launch of her shoe collaboration that included a Birkenstock-style flat and a Lucite heeled mule.

Pop art patterns and beachy separates made for a fun surfer vibe. There were also pieces that were worthy of street style looks, including a chambray jumpsuit and wide legged pants, a leather vest, as well as bold matching suiting tops and shorts.

The mens rivaled the ladies in the short shorts territory, but there were still pieces mixed in for the less daring like a striped short sleeve sweater with red detailing.

If you haven’t heard me mention it before, acid lime color and crop tops look like they are going to be everywhere in the spring, but Turk hit the bullseye and made for the most wearable, yet fun collection yet.
