It’s been a year since the pandemic was a realit It’s been a year since the pandemic was a reality and it’s been a year since I lost sight of ME.

Having a baby is hard enough on a woman, but giving birth during a pandemic has deemed harder than I ever imagined. Normally when you have a baby, you have support of family, other new moms, and even all the childcare. I used to have hobbies, a social life, a work/life balance... I used to take time for me to meditate, do yoga, and even have date nights. I’m lucky if I can spend an uninterrupted minute in the bathroom alone lately.

I miss the pre-pandemic ME, and find myself longing for that life again, but I’m also stronger and amazed by how much I can accomplish with these obstacles thrown my way.

This is a post mourning the ME that I deserve. A year into this, I’m reminding myself of that ME and am making it a point to find her again.

🤍tag a mama that may feel this too🤍

Smile baby girl. You can be anything you want to b Smile baby girl. You can be anything you want to be. 💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿

I told my husband that this was such an important moment for our girl and he said “I already thought she could be anything she wanted to be.... but then again I’m a man.” As of now, that dream can actually be a reality.

Was it just my hormones or were you bawling too?? 😭😭😭😭

9 months in. 9 months out. If someone told me 9 9 months in. 9 months out.

If someone told me 9 months ago that there would STILL be women giving birth in a pandemic in another 9 months, I would have thought they were crazy. I really thought there wouldn’t be many of us having to live every day in fear for our babies, and even our own lives. Here we are 9 months later, letting you know that we are warriors for carrying, birthing and raising humans in a pandemic. Our babies will be the most resilient people, because their mamas are. 💪🏻

💞Tag an expecting or new mama that may need to hear this. 💞

I’m grateful my mom had these conversations with me regularly and I hope to do the same with my children. Is this something you talked about with your parents growing up? 🤟🏻🤟🏼🤟🏽🤟🏾🤟🏿

Happy long weekend! (Sorry not sorry this is just really a photo dump of my cute kid and baby)
This is the natural me. No filter. No photoshoppin This is the natural me. No filter. No photoshopping. No foundation. No Botox/fillers. No shame that I’m getting older.

I almost didn’t share this unedited photo as is because I’m very insecure about my acne scars and a few fine lines (not to mention the skin colored birthmark on my forehead) because after 2 pregnancies, breastfeeding for a combined 18 months, a miscarriage, a lot of stress, my skin has taken a toll.

BUT I did share this photo because I’m so proud of how far my skin has come. I hope all of you that have been struggling with skin issues too can feel the same way.

Between going to my esthetician and really investing in my skin (as well as daily spf/staying out of the sun/wearing a hat all summer!), I’m literally more comfortable in my skin now than in my 20s!

I’m so grateful to have discovered @fleurandbee because they are a natural skincare line that I never break out from, are affordable and are effective! Caffeine is the foundation of my food pyramid. ☕ Caffeine is the foundation of my food pyramid. ☕️ 🍵 😴🥴

I’ve cut back on coffee and have been indulging in an afternoon matcha instead lately because it’s something to look forward to for some “‘me time” when the kids nap. Now that my son no longer naps (UGH), I’m starting to involve him in the process. It was fun for both of us at least (I think he’s in it for his oat milk latte).

Are you a coffee or matcha addict? If you haven’t tried matcha, SAVE this post and try this at home! 👇🏻

The benefits of a matcha include:
💚gives you energy without the jitters
💚packed with antioxidants
💚boosts metabolism
💚detoxifies
💚calms the mind
💚relaxes the body
💚rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
💚enhances mood
💚aids in concentration

The proper way to make a 🍵 latte:
-SIFT matcha powder
-ADD 1/2-1 tsp of matcha to a bowl
-POUR a little boiled water enough to cover the powder (no hotter than 175F or it will burn the matcha)
-WHISK vigorously in a zig-zag and circular pattern until powder is foamy and dissolved
-ADD to mug
-FROTH milk of choice (I prefer oat) and pour over matcha
-ENJOY!

(Ps head to thenewyorkstylist.com/discounts for exclusive codes to get my cashmere sweatsuit, my son’s fun tee and my new fave matcha)

There were quite a few meltdowns today. I’m not There were quite a few meltdowns today. I’m not just talking about my kids. I found myself snapping at my 3 year old all day and getting annoyed at my baby demanding my attention even more than I was giving. I also found myself apologizing in every email because it’s so hard to keep up with my inbox being home with kids.

I’m trying to juggle it all and the truth is, I’m not. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, if not more. My husband reminded me today that we’ve all been in this way too long that most of us feel the same way. Our society wasn’t set up for this. We weren’t meant to parent full time AND work full time AND do it well.

I decided today I’m going to give myself a break. I’ll start with this being my message:

I’m a mom in a pandemic and will be delayed in responding to my emails. Thank you for understanding.

I’m having a tough time processing what actually I’m having a tough time processing what actually just happened in our country—possibly because of all the sleep deprivation—but I just had to say I’m heartbroken for my children to inherit a world like this. Having my baby during the pandemic gave me hope that we can get through anything. It gave me hope for a better future. What happened was a major setback in so many ways. I feel helpless. The only thing I can do is teach my children to be better than this.
