Your Instagram feed may be infiltrated with festival fashion right now, but on the other side of the country, we’re getting festive over the relief of the never-ending-winter and the sun finally making its appearance. In NYC, we’re happy to just shed our winter coats finally and aren’t really thinking about cut off shorts and lace up sandals (well, yet anyway).
For me, spring fashion usually means easy breezy layers. This season there’s really not much “new” to see, but we’re reaching into the past for inspiration: 70’s style flares, bucket bags, and I even broke out my father’s old belt from back in the day, which looks fresh again worn with these pieces.
Also not new to my style, but new to my closet is this easy, lightweigh shirt that only cost $20 and was perfect this weekend to go from brunch with family at one of my favorite spots, Rucola, to then dinner with old friends at Dinosaur BBQ and drinks at the Zombie Hut.
One of my favorite “new” styles this season is that for the first time in a long time, the scarf is making an appearance and in more forms than before. You don’t have to get fancy and twist it in different ways, but just let it hang. It’s a great way to add a layer of warmth and then throw into your purse when you get hot. This Hunt Slonem for Echo Design limited edition scarf adds a pop of color (and brings out my eyes might I add!) and the bunnies are a playful reminder that spring has finally sprung.
Speaking of wearable art, how cool is this Parulina midi ring? It’s also a reminder that Game of Thrones is finally back on TV after a long “winter is coming.” Did I mention I just love spring?
