Okay, as a New Yorker I tend to wear a lot of black, so I’m a bit bias when I say that this is THE dress for spring /summer, but it is part of the biggest dress trend of the season. You see, the button front dress is having quite a moment right now. It’s so feminine, easy and unfussy. It can also look sexy without trying too hard. Lucky for me, it’s something I can “mom” in as well but still wear to alfresco dining or rooftop cocktails.
I bought this particular dress for a photoshoot in January in a burnt orangy color and when I tried it on, my assistant said it just didn’t suit me. I think it was both the color and the sizing (I sized down to an XS because after breastfeeding, my chest is barely there). When I found it for this season in black and in a smaller size, I knew it was meant to be.
If black isn’t your jam, lucky for you, it comes in a variety of colors, including the burnt orange which someone with a darker complexion or hair needs to get because it’s so good and on sale!
If you need a bit more support in your bust area (lucky you girl!), not to fret, there’s a button front dress for you too. I bought more because I wanted to wear them to work too and not just for special occasions. Here are some of my picks for button front dresses below.
In addition to this dress, I’ve been getting a TON of compliments on my new favorite sandals that not only seem to go with everything but are maybe the most incredibly comfortable flat sandals I’ve ever worn. You may know Sorel for their snow boots, but now they’re taking on the summer market too with sandals.
They come in a few different colors if the two-tone look isn’t for you, but I personally love that these go with just about everything. They’re also perfect for every aspect of my life, so you’re likely going to see them a lot on me.
