Between all of the rain in our forecast and styling back to back…to back editorial photoshoots this week, I don’t have one of my daily looks to share with you today.
I will, however, leave you with a look I’m loving at the moment—creative braids.
As I’ve always been inspired by my hippie mother’s style, I’ve always been into braids. After my mother-in-law texted a picture to me during fashion week of some pretty models she saw on the street with braided buns, I decided that I need to get creative beyond my basic braid.
Check out my fellow blogger, Gina Michele for Crochet Clouds’ creative braid tutorials. I can’t wait to try them all…especially the triple braid tutorial. Though, its intricacy is beyond me. I first need to learn how to do a fishtail braid from the blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere. I guess I’ll save all that for a rainy day.

Thanks for the shout out Liz! Braiding has definitely become an obsession of mine…plus it’s pretty much the only thing I can do with my impractical, hip-length hair!
I hope you post some pics of your braids!

Liz, I can’t believe how much you look like your mom! Both gorgeous!
I must say, I don’t care much for the Renaissance, sausage-looking braid. It is too massive, heavy, and not soft looking. A nice, lowish, bun-braid is prettier, I think. That sweet braid of your mom’s is lovely, I think. Then you could expand on it, to gather the rest of the hair in a braided bun in back. I also like her undefined part — that goes with the soft look.
