The Perfect Do Everything Athleisure

The past week or so has been a whirlwind for me, not just because of the pregnancy brain I’ve been having. I’ve traveled more in this past week than most people do in a year…and when they’re not expecting. I started in San Francisco for a family event and then flew to LA, drove to San Diego and flew back to my coast, but instead of back home to NYC, I flew straight to Boston (go Patriots!), all for one of my client’s spring campaigns I’m styling.

With all that travel being pregnant, I needed to be comfortable and find clothes that were versatile for my two-week jet-setting trip. I partnered with Lucy Activewear for the trip and they let me try out some of my favorite picks from their spring collection, which just came out. I’ve always been a big fan of their activewear/athleisure line, but I have to say this collection is by far my favorite. It’s the most versatile and I can get away with it from my pre-natal yoga classes to running from airplanes to prepping for a shoot.

I wore this pullover a ton on my trip, even pairing it with jeans. It was the comfiest piece to throw on for my long plane ride, but the split wrap detail allowed my belly to show through, so it let everyone know I was pregnant (a striped tee underneath helped too).

It was perfect to pair with these leggings, which seriously feel like a second skin. They’re unlike any yoga legging I’ve ever owned because not only are they cute, but they don’t feel like you’re wearing anything! Surprisingly I was able to size up to a medium and make it all work for my growing 28 week bump.

I think my favorite item of the new collection is the “Work to Workout” tote bag. It’s not a typical gym bag, but I’ve used it for everything from pre-natal yoga classes, to swimming, to barre, to now even as a carry on for my trip. These pieces got me ready for just about everything this trip, but I can’t wait to use them all this spring from my post-baby workouts to just running around Brooklyn with my newborn.

On a side note, we stayed at The Marker Hotel in San Francisco and I would highly recommend it. You definitely get the most bang for your buck—aside from the $60 / night parking fee of course, which tends to be the going rate in that expensive city. The hotel itself is in a convenient location, near Union Square and easy to get over both the Golden Gate Bridge and also to hop over to Oakland in the other direction. While we were only there for 2 short nights, it was worth every penny. It’s a funky boutique hotel with lots of amenities, as well as a yummy Italian restaurant, Tratto, attached to it. We got upgraded to the executive king room and I didn’t want to leave after staying there. The Jonathan Adler designed bath products matched the room’s stylish, funky decor that felt more like staying in a stylish apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. Everything was thought through, including even staff updating me via texts to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a yoga mat for our room! I’ll definitely be staying here again next time.
