I’m declaring it. The robe coat (also known as the wrap coat) is the “it” coat of the season. It made its appearance all over the runways for fall. Max Mara did it beautifully, but some of us (me) can’t afford the price tag attached to it. Instead I’m trying to emulate that Gigi Hadid meets Marilyn Monroe look at home—but with a beautiful sable less pricier version, and of course more clothing underneath. There’s still something appealing about a gal clutching her coat even with all of those warm layers underneath.

While I’m sure you’ll still be seeing colorful furs (and hopefully more faux furs) and oversized silhouettes, you’ll be sure to see plenty of the coat of the season in various forms. I chose mine in classic camel, which like Max Mara showed us, hasn’t gone out of style from the 50’s until now. As I always say, coats are a great piece to invest/splurge on because you’ll wear them every day so you’ll get your money’s worth.
