“Winter is coming.” Thanks to Game of Thrones, we’ve been hearing that since, well it feels like last winter. As of yesterday, it’s arrived and experts say it’s going to be just as bitterly cold as last.

That’s probably why faux fur is having a MAJOR moment this season. While fur has been worn for centuries to keep our bodies warm, we’re finally wising up and fashion has advanced enough to create faux fur that looks quite realistic and high quality. For the past year thanks to brands like Shrimps, faux has gotten a fun twist too. We’ve been seeing stylish street style folks rocking some wild (no pun intended) patterns and colors. Some seem to be nearly as pricey as the real deal, but they’re beautifully made and without any cruelty involved.

I’ve rounded up my favorite picks below that range from the cost of your coffee for the week to your Christmas gift to yourself. Stay warm out there!

On a side note, 70’s style fashion will be creeping back into your life in 2015, which I’m stoked about because it’s totally my style. Start breaking out your flares and wide legged pants now before I can tell you, “I told ya so!”
