Summertime and The Livin' Is Easy

DA_colorful_5

There’s something about summer that forces everything to become a bit more laid back—including my style. I can’t deal with anything fussy when the temps go up.

You can’t go wrong with a white tee and boyfriend jeans, but you can make it a bit more polished with your accessories like a bright structured bag, wedges, sunglasses, and a scarf or headband. When you mix simple gold accessories like April Soderstrom’s featherweight hoop earrings, it almost seems effortless.

STYLIST TIP: While I’m not a hair stylist, I’ve been asked many times on set to fix the talent’s hair when a hair stylist is not on hand. I’ve learned this easy hair trick from the pros:

1. Pull the hair back into a ponytail and secure with a clear elastic or one that matches one’s hair color.

2. Then take a piece of the hair and wrap it around the elastic until it’s covered.

3. Secure with u-shaped bobby-pins and you instantly have a polished summer hair style. Add a scarf or turban headband to combat the humidity and frizz.
