I know, I know; the only shapes you probably can think wearing right now may be Michelin Man shape coats and layers upon layers if you live in NYC, the Northeast, or pretty much anywhere in the Northern hemisphere at the moment.
Spring WILL come before we know it and it will be time to shed those layers in favor of more warm weather friendly pieces. Guess what? You’ll be ahead of the game with these pieces when those warm days come out of no where and you’re already looking fresh for the season. I got to take them for a test run on my trip to Puerto Rico last week and I’m on board with them.
Check out below for the 4 new silhouettes for spring 2015 that you’re going to want to arm yourself with come spring—which may only be a few weeks away. Here’s hoping.
The 4 new silhouettes for spring 2015 you’re going to want to get to know:
1. The Off-The-Shoulder Top
We saw these a bit at NYFW back in September and I guarantee you’ll be seeing them this coming season. They’re what the crop top was the past few seasons, but showing off a new bit of skin that hasn’t seen the sun in a while. You can also rock this trend in dress form, like with this Dana-Maxx dress I wore here as a top.
2. Culottes and Cropped Wide Legged Pants
It’s not like this is anything new, but they’re totally making a comeback this season. Bonus: You can start wearing them now with some sleek and pointy boots or heels. I even wore heat-tech leggings underneath while wearing these Blue Pearl culottes at fashion week to keep me warm…and no one knew!
3. Smaller Cross Body Bags
This season fashionistas will be taking a break from their massive bags that are giving them back issues in exchange for smaller cross-body shapes, almost making the bag part of the outfit rather than an arm accessory.
4. Wedge and Platform Sandals
Again, these are not new to the fashion world, but with the resurgence of the 70’s this comfy style shoe will be your go-to style this spring.
