About a decade ago I lived in London and I must say my brief stint there taught me so much about fashion and made me realize how the Brits know fashion. Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Bowie are my fashion idols, so I definitely look across the pond for fashion influence.
I recall the fashionable women on High Street wearing skinny jeans tucked into boots—before that was a thing—and I emulated this style. To my dismay, my American friends thought I was crazy, until of course they copied this style about a season later.
I recently discovered the UK based accessories brand Dune London and once again, the Brits know style, and how to do it without breaking the bank.
One of my favorite pieces from their spring 2016 collection was these blue suede mod boots. I chose the boots not only because I just wanted to tell someone to don’t mess with my blue suede shoes, but because a classic Chelsea boot looks great with all of the on-trend cropped pants I’ve been stocking up on this season.
This pink stripe saddle shaped bag isn’t something I normally would have gravitated towards because of the color pink, but something possessed me during the brand’s recent press preview to want make this bag mine. Perhaps it’s the influence of Pantone, but it’s SUCH a great shape and color bag for transitioning into spring. The faux fur pom is an adorable unexpected touch, really hitting that Pantone color of the year note. Dune’s spring collection is a fun, updated mod and 70’s influenced style that I can get behind.
