Plaid for fall. Groundbreaking. Right? It’s something I can almost guarantee my clients ask me to style with for their fall campaigns, especially this past year. I used it so much! It’s no wonder why I can’t get enough at the moment.
I’m sure you own something plaid in your closet, but this season it’s being updated in numerous ways and I’m loving it. As you saw on my recent post plaid blazers are one of the major trends this season that could can get on board without feeling too trendy. I’m feeling the same way about this boyfriend coat.
There’s something so chic and unexpected about this silhouette with the drop shoulders mixed with the classic tailoring. The buffalo check in a bold print is also not what you’d expect in a fall coat. I’m feeling the same way about blazers and a more boyfriend silhouette is the way to go. I have my eye on this luxe and popular one too.
Speaking of bold colors, I’ve been addicted to this Clare V. yellow tote this past year and I love how it actually works so well for fall, even though I wore it all spring too. It fits my laptop and has become one of my favorite work bags when I sold pretty much all of my designer handbags. If a tote isn’t for you, you may love the yellow Clare V. bag my friend Laura recently scored (and go follow her for outfit ideas while you’re at it!).
Moral of the story is to look for updated plaids and step out of your comfort zone a bit this season — especially if you’re like me and tend to wear all black!
